چکیده
As one of the eight largest freshwater lakes in China, Wuliangsuhai Lake is an extremely rare large lake with biodiversity and environmental protection functions world’s arid or semi-arid areas it plays a pivotal role protecting ecological security Yellow River Basin. Heavy metals sediment interstitial water, surface sediments, cores were investigated analyzed, pollution degree evaluated based on multiple assessment methods. The bioavailability heavy sediments was by calculating ratio chemical fractions metals. toxicity water indicated that Ni, Zn, As, Cd would not be toxic to aquatic ecosystems, however, Hg Cr some regions may cause acute benthos. results are heavily polluted main polluting elements Hg. has highest because its high exchangeable fraction ratio. In addition, exogenous accumulated within 20 cm cores, then, increasing depth, risk decreased.

Ecological risk assessment of heavy metals from cement factory dust
Background: The release of metals from industrial factories is one of the most important sources of environmental pollution. The present study aimed to determine the concentration of heavy metals like cadmium (Cd), chromium (Cr), manganese (Mn), nickel (Ni), and lead (Pb) in dust around the cement factory. Methods: A total of 22 dust samples were collected from areas around the cement factory...
متن کاملDistribution, sources and ecological risk assessment of heavy metals in surface sediments from Lake Taihu, China
The distribution, sources and ecological risk of heavy metals in surface sediments from Lake Taihu were studied. Results showed that the measured heavy metals had varied spatial distribution patterns, indicating that they had complex origins and controlling factors. Pearson’s correlation analysis revealed that the total phosphorus and the loss on ignition were positively correlated with the mea...

Background: The present study was carried out to assess the seasonal variations, source apportionment, and risk assessment of heavy metals (Cd, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Pb, and Zn) in the surface sediments from the Khanpur Lake, Pakistan. Methods: Composite samples are collected and processed to measure the concentrations of heavy metals in Ca(NO3)2 extract and acid extract of the sediments using flame ...
متن کاملMineralogical and ecological assessment of heavy metals in the surface sediment of Maharlou Lake, Shiraz, Iran
Maharlou Lake, as the largest water body neighboring to the metropolis of Shiraz, plays a significant role in adjusting the ecosystem of the region. The objective of this study was to evaluate mineralogy and heavy metals enrichment in the surface sediments of the Maharlou Lake. The result showed a decreasing trend of heavy metals concentrations in studied region surface sediments as follows: Sr...
